The McCutcheon Mavericks triumphed over the host North Newton Spartans softball squad by a count of 14-0 in Saturday's non-league challenge.
Next, the Mavericks play the Kankakee Valley Kougars (Wheatfield, IN) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, May 13. McCutcheon will attempt to upgrade on its 9-9 season record. The Kougars enter the challenge with a 10-10 record after their 13-0 non-league loss to Crown Point (Crown Point, IN).
The Spartans (13-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Washington Township (Valparaiso, IN). The Senators enter the non-league challenge with a 6-9 record. In their last challenge, Washington Township was routed by Kouts (Kouts, IN), 13-6, in a league challenge.
