The St. Thomas More Sabers the visiting Mattoon Green Wave baseball team by a count of 8-6 in Wednesday's non-league bout.
The Sabers now possess a 9-11 record. They take the field next when they travel to Bishop McNamara for a non-league bout on Thursday, May 12. St. Thomas More will face a Fightin' Irish team coming off a 9-2 league win over Immaculate Conception Academy (Norwood, OH). The Fightin' Irish record now stands at 14-10.
Next, the Green Wave face the St. Joseph-Ogden Spartans (St. Joseph, IL) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, May 12. Mattoon will attempt to move on its 7-14 season record. The Spartans enter the bout with a 26-2 record after their 11-1 non-league win over Tri-Valley (Downs, IL).
