Bucksport Golden Bucks (Bucksport, ME) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Mount Desert Island Trojans (Mount Desert, ME), 7-5 in a non-league challenge.

The Golden Bucks now own a 8-1 record. They take the field next when they host Washington Academy for a Class C North challenge on Friday, May 13.

With the loss, Mount Desert Island falls to 4-2 on the campaign. The Trojans host John Bapst Memorial (Bangor, ME) to battle the Crusaders in a Class B North challenge on Friday, May 13. The Crusaders enter the challenge with a record of 6-4. John Bapst Memorial lost 9-2 in their recent league challenge against Old Town (Old Town, ME)
