Thornton Academy Trojans (Saco, ME) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Marshwood Hawks (South Berwick, ME), 13-11 in a league challenge.

The Trojans now own a 5-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Kennebunk for a Class A South challenge on Thursday, May 12. Thornton Academy will battle a Rams squad coming off a 15-0 league win over Westbrook (Westbrook, ME). The Rams record now stands at 7-1.

With the loss, Marshwood falls to 2-7 on the campaign. The Hawks host South Portland (South Portland, ME) to battle the Red Riots in a Class A South challenge on Friday, May 13. The Red Riots enter the challenge with a record of 4-5. South Portland lost 13-4 in their recent league challenge against Massabesic (Waterboro, ME)
