The Perry Pirates got by the visiting Nordonia Knights softball squad by a count of 2-1 in Wednesday's non-league battle.
The Pirates (16-7) will now prepare for their battle against Aurora (Aurora, OH). The Greenmen go into the non-league battle with a 13-7 record. In their last battle, Aurora nudged Barberton (Barberton, OH), 10-0, in a league battle.
The Knights now sport a 7-16 record. They play next when they host Brunswick for a non-league battle on Thursday, May 12. Nordonia will meet a Blue Devils squad coming off a 9-7 league win over Mentor (Mentor, OH). The Blue Devils record now stands at 12-2.
