In Thursday's non-league challenge, the Hopewell Vikings (Aliquippa, PA) baseball squad edged the host New Castle Hurricanes (New Castle, PA), by a final score of 5-4.

With the win, Hopewell upgrades its record to 8-11 on the season.

With the defeat, New Castle falls to 6-11 on the season. The Hurricanes host Ambridge (Ambridge, PA) to battle the Bridgers in a non-league challenge on Friday, May 12.
