The Avon Lake Shoremen softball team scored 7 runs and limited the visiting Lutheran West Longhorns to 1 in the Shoremen non-league triumph on Thursday.

With the triumph, Avon Lake moves its record to 2-21 on the year. The Shoremen host Valley Forge (Parma Heights, OH) to play the Patriots in a non-league game on Saturday, May 13. The Patriots come into the game with a record of 6-14. Valley Forge lost 7-2 in their recent non-league game against North Olmsted (North Olmsted, OH)

In their next game, the Longhorns play the Rocky River Pirates (Rocky River, OH) in a non-league game, on Friday, May 12. Lutheran West will attempt to move on its 5-6 season record. The Pirates come into the game with a 8-12 record after their 15-9 non-league loss to Fairview (Fairview Park, OH).
