Sparta Bulldogs (Sparta, IL) fans exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Lebanon Greyhounds (Lebanon, IL), 10-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Bulldogs now sport a 4-13 record. They take the field next when they travel to Okawville for a Cahokia - Illinois test on Friday, May 12. Sparta will clash with a Rockets team coming off a 5-2 league loss to Carlyle (Carlyle, IL). The Rockets record now stands at 11-12.

The Greyhounds (7-13) will now prepare for their test against Marissa/Coulterville (Marissa, IL). The Meteors come into the Cahokia - Kaskaskia test with a 11-9 record. In their last test, Marissa/Coulterville was routed by Pinckneyville (Pinckneyville, IL), 7-2, in a non-league test.
