Start Spartans (Toledo, OH) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Southview Cougars (Sylvania, OH), 8-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Spartans now own a 12-4 record. They take the field next when they host Woodward for a Toledo City challenge on Friday, May 12.

With the loss, Southview falls to 0-12 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Northview (Sylvania, OH) to battle the Wildcats in a Northern Lakes challenge on Monday, May 15. The Wildcats enter the challenge with a record of 4-11.
