Floyd Central Highlanders (Floyds Knobs, IN) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Boonville Pioneers (Boonville, IN), 5-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Highlanders now own a 25-4 record. They take the field next when they host South Oldham for a non-league challenge on Saturday, May 11. Floyd Central will battle a Dragons squad coming off a 17-1 non-league win over Whitefield Academy (Louisville, KY). The Dragons record now stands at 13-8.

With the loss, Boonville falls to 11-7 on the campaign. The Pioneers travel to Jasper (Jasper, IN) to battle the Wildcats in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, May 15. The Wildcats enter the challenge with a record of 13-10. Jasper won 3-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Owensboro Catholic (Owensboro, KY)
