Munster Mustangs (Munster, IN) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Carmel Greyhounds (Carmel, IN), 12-5 in a non-league challenge.

The Mustangs now own a 17-8 record. They take the field next when they host Lockport for a non-league challenge on Monday, May 13. Munster will battle a Porters squad coming off a 5-3 non-league win over Yorkville (Yorkville, IL). The Porters record now stands at 22-7.

With the loss, Carmel falls to 8-18 on the campaign. The Greyhounds travel to Harrison (West Lafayette, IN) to battle the Raiders in a non-league challenge on Monday, May 13. The Raiders enter the challenge with a record of 16-3. Harrison won 10-4 in their recent non-league challenge against Roncalli (Indianapolis, IN)
