Saranac Spartans (Saranac, NY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Madison Central Blue Devils (Madison, NY), 13-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Spartans now own a 9-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Northeastern Clinton for a Section 7 Champlain Valley I challenge on Monday, May 13. Saranac will battle a Cougars squad coming off a 13-8 league win over Plattsburgh (Plattsburgh, NY). The Cougars record now stands at 10-3.

With the loss, Madison Central falls to 0-14 on the campaign. The Blue devils host Brookfield Central (Brookfield, NY) to battle the Beavers in a Section 3 Central Counties - American challenge on Friday, May 17. The Beavers enter the challenge with a record of 3-4.
