The Philip Simmons Iron Horses nudged the visiting Buford Yellowjackets baseball team by a tally of 8-7 in Thursday's non-league bout.

The Iron Horses now hold a 19-9 record. They take the field next when they travel to Andrew Jackson for a non-league bout on Saturday, May 14. Philip Simmons will face a Volunteers team coming off a 2-0 non-league win over Woodland (Dorchester, SC). The Volunteers record now stands at 29-1.

Next, the Yellowjackets face the Woodland Wolverines (Dorchester, SC) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, May 14. Buford will attempt to advance on its 18-12 season record. The Wolverines enter the bout with a 11-5 record after their 2-0 non-league loss to Andrew Jackson (Kershaw, SC).
