Richland County Tigers (Olney, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Centralia Orphans (Centralia, IL), 8-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Tigers now own a 9-13 record. They take the field next when they host Effingham for a non-league challenge on Monday, May 16. Richland County will battle a Flaming Hearts squad coming off a 16-9 non-league loss to St. Anthony (Effingham, IL). The Flaming Hearts record now stands at 14-13.

With the loss, Centralia falls to 7-15 on the campaign. The Orphans travel to Highland (Highland, IL) to battle the Bulldogs in a non-league challenge on Saturday, May 14. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a record of 15-8. Highland won 13-10 in their recent league challenge against Civic Memorial (Bethalto, IL)
