Fenwick Friars (Oak Park, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting De La Salle Meteors (Chicago, IL), 5-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Friars now own a 8-13 record. They take the field next when they host Northside for a non-league challenge on Saturday, May 14. Fenwick will face a Mustangs squad coming off a 7-3 non-league loss to De La Salle (Chicago, IL). The Mustangs record now stands at 4-10.

With the loss, De La Salle falls to 14-8 on the campaign. The Meteors travel to Aurora Central Catholic (Aurora, IL) to meet the Chargers in a non-league battle on Monday, May 16. The Chargers go into the battle with a record of 17-6. Aurora Central Catholic won 9-3 in their recent league battle against Riverside-Brookfield (Riverside, IL)
