Spectators at Thursday's non-league match between the Sycamore Spartans (Sycamore, IL) and the visiting Dixon Dukes & Duchesses (Dixon, IL), witnessed Sycamore's softball squad tip Dixon by a count of 9-8.

The Spartans now sport a 15-12 record. They play next when they host Genoa-Kingston for a non-league match on Friday, May 13. Sycamore will face a Cogs squad coming off a 14-12 non-league win over Indian Creek (Shabbona, IL). The Cogs record now stands at 11-18.

With the loss, Dixon moves to 13-6 on the season. The Dukes & duchesses host Byron (Byron, IL) to face the Tigers in a Big Northern match on Saturday, May 14. The Tigers go into the match with a record of 9-14. Byron lost 14-0 in their recent league match against North Boone (Poplar Grove, IL)
