Ider Hornets (Ider, AL) fans exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Sumiton Christian Eagles (Sumiton, AL), 9-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Hornets now sport a 22-15 record. They take the field next when they travel to Spring Garden for a non-league challenge on Friday, May 13. Ider will clash with a Panthers team coming off a 11-3 non-league win over Pisgah (Pisgah, AL). The Panthers record now stands at 18-8.

The Eagles (16-18) will now prepare for their test against Winston County (Double Springs, AL). The Yellowjackets come into the non-league test with a 13-14 record. In their last test, Winston County edged Cleveland (Cleveland, AL), 9-6, in a non-league test.
