Saranac Chiefs (Saranac, NY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Moriah Vikings (Port Henry, NY), 19-2 in a league challenge.

The Chiefs now own a 9-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Northeastern Clinton for a Section 7 Champlain Valley I challenge on Friday, May 13. Saranac will battle a Cougars squad coming off a 8-4 league loss to Peru (Peru, NY). The Cougars record now stands at 1-11.

With the loss, Moriah falls to 0-11 on the campaign. The Vikings travel to Ticonderoga (Ticonderoga, NY) to battle the Sentinels in a Section 7 Champlain Valley I challenge on Friday, May 13. The Sentinels enter the challenge with a record of 9-7. Ticonderoga won 15-12 in their recent league challenge against AuSable Valley (Clintonville, NY)
