Spectators at Friday's non-league match between the Messalonskee Eagles (Oakland, ME) and the host Leavitt Hornets (Turner, ME), witnessed Messalonskee's softball squad tip Leavitt by a count of 8-1.

The Eagles now sport a 5-3 record. They play next when they host Oxford Hills for a Class A North match on Monday, May 15. Messalonskee will face a Vikings squad coming off a 6-0 league win over Brunswick (Brunswick, ME). The Vikings record now stands at 8-0.

With the loss, Leavitt moves to 7-2 on the season. The Hornets host Mt. Blue (Farmington, ME) to face the Cougars in a non-league match on Saturday, May 13. The Cougars go into the match with a record of 1-8. Mt. Blue lost 12-2 in their recent league match against Edward Little (Auburn, ME)
