In Monday's non-league game, the visiting Colts Neck Cougars baseball team scored a close 8-7 win over the Central Regional Golden Eagles.
The Cougars (13-6) will now prepare for their game against Red Bank Regional (Little Silver, NJ). The Bucs go into the non-league game with a 6-13 record. In their last game, Red Bank Regional nudged Matawan Regional (Aberdeen, NJ), 14-5, in a league game.
Next, the Golden Eagles play the Barnegat Bengals (Barnegat, NJ) in a non-league game, on Monday, May 12. Central Regional will attempt to improve on its 14-9 season record. The Bengals go into the game with a 8-8 record after their 2-0 non-league win over Raritan (Hazlet, NJ).
