The Athens Wildcats softball team scored 3 runs and held the visiting South Williamsport Mountaineers to 0 in the Wildcats non-league win on Monday.

The Wildcats now sport a 16-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Wellsboro for a Northern Tier - Large battle on Tuesday, May 13. Athens will confront a Hornets team coming off a 9-4 league loss to Williamson (Tioga, PA). The Hornets record now stands at 5-10.

With the loss, South Williamsport moves to 12-5 on the season. The Mountaineers host Mifflinburg (Mifflinburg, PA) to confront the Wildcats in a non-league battle on Thursday, May 15. The Wildcats come into the battle with a record of 15-3. Mifflinburg won 10-0 in their recent non-league battle against Selinsgrove (Selinsgrove, PA)
