The crowd at Friday's league match between the Maloney Spartans (Meriden, CT) and the host Middletown Blue Dragons (Middletown, CT), saw Maloney's softball squad achieve victory over Middletown by a count of 16-5.

The Spartans now sport a 12-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Newington for a Central Connecticut - South test on Monday, May 16. Maloney will clash with a Nor'easters team coming off a 4-3 non-league loss to Windsor (Windsor, CT). The Nor'easters record now stands at 7-7.

The Blue Dragons (4-11) will now prepare for their test against Simsbury (Simsbury, CT). The Trojans come into the non-league test with a 9-7 record. In their last test, Simsbury was routed by Southington (Southington, CT), 11-0, in a league test.
