South Portland Red Riots (South Portland, ME) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Marshwood Hawks (South Berwick, ME), 5-0 in a league challenge.

The Red Riots now own a 5-5 record. They take the field next when they host Portland for a Class A South challenge on Monday, May 16. South Portland will battle a Bulldogs squad coming off a 5-3 league win over Massabesic (Waterboro, ME). The Bulldogs record now stands at 6-1.

With the loss, Marshwood falls to 2-8 on the campaign. The Hawks travel to Windham (Windham, ME) to battle the Eagles in a Class A South challenge on Monday, May 16. The Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 7-2. Windham won 13-0 in their recent league challenge against Falmouth (Falmouth, ME)
