Yarmouth Clippers (Yarmouth, ME) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Mt. Ararat Eagles (Topsham, ME), 12-9 in a non-league challenge.

The Clippers now own a 3-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Greely for a Class B South challenge on Monday, May 15. Yarmouth will battle a Rangers squad coming off a 18-7 league win over Cape Elizabeth (Cape Elizabeth, ME). The Rangers record now stands at 2-8.

With the loss, Mt. Ararat falls to 0-9 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to Brunswick (Brunswick, ME) to battle the Dragons in a Class A North challenge on Monday, May 15. The Dragons enter the challenge with a record of 5-3. Brunswick lost 6-0 in their recent league challenge against Oxford Hills (South Paris, ME)
