Spectators at Saturday's non-league match between the Notre Dame Fighting Irish (Batavia, NY) and the visiting Saranac Chiefs (Saranac, NY), witnessed Notre Dame's softball squad tip Saranac by a count of 6-1.

The Fighting Irish now sport a 10-2 record. They play next when they host Kendall for a Class DD match on Monday, May 15. Notre Dame will face a Eagles squad coming off a 7-1 league loss to Byron-Bergen (Bergen, NY). The Eagles record now stands at 4-7.

With the loss, Saranac moves to 8-7 on the season. The Chiefs travel to AuSable Valley (Clintonville, NY) to face the Patriots in a Section 7 Champlain Valley I match on Monday, May 15. The Patriots go into the match with a record of 6-5. AuSable Valley won 14-8 in their recent league match against Northern Adirondack (Ellenburg Depot, NY)
