Prospect Knights (Mt. Prospect, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Taft Eagles (Chicago, IL), 18-5 in a non-league challenge.

The Knights now own a 17-9 record. They take the field next when they host Elk Grove for a Mid-Suburban East challenge on Monday, May 15. Prospect will battle a Grenadiers squad coming off a 5-1 non-league loss to Wheaton North (Wheaton, IL). The Grenadiers record now stands at 10-13.

With the loss, Taft falls to 20-11 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to Ridgewood (Norridge, IL) to battle the Rebels in a non-league challenge on Monday, May 15. The Rebels enter the challenge with a record of 8-14. Ridgewood won 11-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Walther Christian Academy (Melrose Park, IL)
