Carey Blue Devils (Carey, OH) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Hopewell-Loudon Chieftains (Bascom, OH), 8-5 in a non-league challenge.
The Blue Devils now own a 9-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to New Riegel for a non-league challenge on Thursday, May 16.
With the loss, Hopewell-Loudon falls to 20-5 on the campaign. The Chieftains host Old Fort (Old Fort, OH) to face the Stockaders in a Sandusky Bay - River challenge on Tuesday, May 14. The Stockaders enter the challenge with a record of 6-14. Old Fort won 10-9 in their recent league challenge against Gibsonburg (Gibsonburg, OH)
