Spectators at Monday's non-league match between the McDowell Trojans (Erie, PA) and the host Union City Bears (Union City, PA), witnessed McDowell's softball squad tip Union City by a count of 7-4.

The Trojans now sport a 10-8 record. They play next when they travel to Warren for a District 10 Region 5 match on Tuesday, May 14.

With the loss, Union City moves to 9-9 on the season. The Bears travel to Northwestern (Albion, PA) to meet the Wildcats in a District 10 Region 3 match on Tuesday, May 14. The Wildcats go into the match with a record of 12-6. Northwestern won 20-10 in their recent non-league match against General McLane (Edinboro, PA)
