Warwick Wildcats (Warwick, NY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Newburgh Free Academy Goldbacks (Newburgh, NY), 6-5 in a non-league challenge.

The Wildcats now own a 12-5 record. They take the field next when they host Middletown for a non-league challenge on Thursday, May 16. Warwick will battle a Middie Bears squad coming off a 3-1 non-league loss to Minisink Valley (Slate Hill, NY). The Middie Bears record now stands at 11-7.

With the loss, Newburgh Free Academy falls to 9-8 on the campaign. The Goldbacks travel to Pine Bush (Pine Bush, NY) to battle the Bushmen in a Orange County Division I challenge on Wednesday, May 15. The Bushmen enter the challenge with a record of 11-8. Pine Bush won 3-0 in their recent league challenge against Cornwall Central (New Windsor, NY)
