The Richlands Blue Tornado triumphed over the host Tazewell Bulldogs softball squad by a count of 10-5 in Tuesday's league challenge.

Next, the Blue Tornado meet the Marion Scarlet Hurricanes (Marion, VA) in a Southwest challenge, on Thursday, May 15. Richlands will attempt to upgrade on its 13-7 season record. The Scarlet Hurricanes enter the challenge with a 7-11 record after their 10-8 non-league loss to Rural Retreat (Rural Retreat, VA).

The Bulldogs (8-10) will now prepare for their challenge against Lebanon (Lebanon, VA). The Pioneers enter the Southwest challenge with a 15-3 record. In their last challenge, Lebanon edged Graham (Bluefield, VA), 13-1, in a league challenge.
