The crowd at Wednesday's non-league bout between the Mapleton Mounties (Ashland, OH) and the visiting Wellington Dukes (Wellington, OH), observed Mapleton's softball team prevail over Wellington by a tally of 18-1.

The Mounties (21-3) will now prepare for their bout against South Central (Greenwich, OH). The Trojans go into the Firelands bout with a 7-13 record. In their last bout, South Central was routed by Perkins (Sandusky, OH), 8-5, in a non-league bout.

In their next game, the Dukes battle the Brookside Cardinals (Sheffield, OH) in a Lorain County 8 bout, on Thursday, May 14. Wellington will attempt to advance on its 2-14 season record. The Cardinals go into the bout with a 4-16 record after their 17-2 non-league loss to Triway (Wooster, OH).
