Eastern Greene Thunderbirds (Bloomfield, IN) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Shakamak Lakers (Jasonville, IN), 24-12 in a league challenge.

The Thunderbirds now own a 8-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to Eminence for a non-league challenge on Monday, May 16. Eastern Greene will battle a Eels squad coming off a 23-0 league win over Christel House (Indianapolis, IN). The Eels record now stands at 9-8.

With the loss, Shakamak falls to 2-17 on the campaign. The Lakers travel to North Central (Farmersburg, IN) to battle the Thunderbirds in a Southwestern Indiana challenge on Tuesday, May 17. The Thunderbirds enter the challenge with a record of 8-14. North Central won 20-10 in their recent non-league challenge against Cloverdale (Cloverdale, IN)
