The North Newton Spartans softball team scored 15 runs and limited the host Griffith Panthers to 3 in the Spartans non-league triumph on Saturday.
With the triumph, North Newton moves its record to 11-3 on the year. The Spartans travel to South Newton (Kentland, IN) to clash with the Rebels in a Midwest game on Tuesday, May 17. The Rebels come into the game with a record of 7-9. South Newton lost 5-3 in their recent league game against Frontier (Chalmers, IN)
In their next game, the Panthers clash with the Hebron Hawks (Hebron, IN) in a non-league game, on Monday, May 16. Griffith will attempt to move on its 8-11 season record. The Hawks come into the game with a 17-2 record after their 8-0 non-league loss to Boone Grove (Valparaiso, IN).
