Hanover Central Wildcats (Cedar Lake, IN) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting North Newton Spartans (Morocco, IN), 7-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Wildcats now own a 13-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Highland for a non-league challenge on Monday, May 16. Hanover Central will face a Trojans squad coming off a 16-8 non-league win over Chesterton (Chesterton, IN). The Trojans record now stands at 8-10.

With the loss, North Newton falls to 10-3 on the campaign. The Spartans travel to Griffith (Griffith, IN) to face the Panthers in a non-league challenge on Saturday, May 14. The Panthers enter the challenge with a record of 8-9. Griffith won 5-2 in their recent non-league challenge against Hammond Central (Hammond, IN)
