The crowd at Tuesday's non-league match between the Lyons Lions (LaGrange, IL) and the visiting St. Laurence Vikings (Burbank, IL), saw Lyons's softball squad nip St. Laurence by a count of 8-5.

The Lions now sport a 13-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to Glenbard West for a non-league match on Wednesday, May 15.

With the loss, St. Laurence falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Vikings travel to Downers Grove North (Downers Grove, IL) to face the Trojans in a non-league match on Thursday, May 16. The Trojans enter the match with a record of 16-3. Downers Grove North won 8-5 in their recent league match against York (Elmhurst, IL)
