Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Mooresville Blue Devils (Mooresville, NC), 4-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Cougars now own a 21-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Weddington for a non-league challenge on Friday, May 17. Alexander Central will battle a Warriors squad coming off a 10-0 non-league win over Charlotte Catholic (Charlotte, NC). The Warriors record now stands at 18-3.

With the loss, Mooresville falls to 24-2 on the campaign.
