Riverside Panthers (Ellwood City, PA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Apollo Ridge Vikings (Spring Church, PA), 9-8 in a non-league challenge.

The Panthers now own a 3-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to Neshannock for a non-league challenge on Thursday, May 16. Riverside will battle a Lancers squad coming off a 5-3 non-league win over North Allegheny (Wexford, PA). The Lancers record now stands at 19-0.

With the loss, Apollo Ridge falls to 9-6 on the campaign.
