Cheney Cardinals (Cheney, KS) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Halstead Dragons (Halstead, KS), 4-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Cardinals now own a 15-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Haven for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, May 14. Cheney will battle a Wildcats squad coming off a 13-1 non-league win over Lyons (Lyons, KS). The Wildcats record now stands at 21-2.

With the loss, Halstead falls to 19-4 on the campaign.
