Pinconning Spartans (Pinconning, MI) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Meridian Mustangs (Sanford, MI), 5-1 in a league challenge.

The Spartans now own a 14-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to New Lothrop for a non-league challenge on Thursday, May 16.

With the loss, Meridian falls to 12-6 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to Beaverton (Beaverton, MI) to clash with the Beavers in a Jack Pine game on Thursday, May 16. The Beavers come into the game with a record of 7-9. Beaverton lost 8-3 in their recent league game against Gladwin (Gladwin, MI)
