In Wednesday's non-league game, the visiting Laquey Hornets baseball team scored a close 16-12 win over the Newburg Wolves.

The Hornets (2-16) will now prepare for their game against Plato (Plato, MO). The Eagles go into the Class 2 District 9 game with a 10-15 record. In their last game, Plato was overwhelmed by Houston (Houston, MO), 11-5, in a non-league battle.

Next, the Wolves face the Richland Bears (Richland, MO) in a non-league battle, on Thursday, May 15. Newburg will attempt to upgrade on its 0-10 season record. The Bears enter the battle with a 8-10 record after their 6-3 league win over Stoutland (Stoutland, MO).
