In Wednesday's non-league game, the host Pleasant Plains Cardinals baseball team scored a close 8-4 win over the Lincoln Railsplitters.
The Cardinals (27-5) will now prepare for their game against Father McGivney Catholic (Glen Carbon, IL). The Griffins go into the non-league game with a 29-3 record. In their last game, Father McGivney Catholic nudged Civic Memorial (Bethalto, IL), 10-9, in a non-league game.
Next, the Railsplitters play the Auburn Trojans (Auburn, IL) in a non-league game, on Thursday, May 15. Lincoln will attempt to improve on its 11-15 season record. The Trojans go into the game with a 12-12 record after their 6-4 non-league loss to Pawnee (Pawnee, IL).
