The Newtown Nighthawks baseball team scored 3 runs and held the host Stratford Red Devils to 1 in the Nighthawks league win on Wednesday.
The Nighthawks now own a 8-8 record. They take the field next when they host New Fairfield for a Southwest test on Sunday, May 18. Newtown will play a Rebels team coming off a 6-3 league loss to Brookfield (Brookfield, CT). The Rebels record now stands at 8-9.
With the defeat, Stratford drops to 3-8 on the year. The Red devils host Bethel (Bethel, CT) to play the Wildcats in a Southwest test on Friday, May 16. The Wildcats go into the test with a record of 13-2. Bethel won 4-2 in their recent league test against Joel Barlow (Redding, CT)
