The crowd at Wednesday's league bout between the Maloney Spartans (Meriden, CT) and the visiting Plainville Blue Devils (Plainville, CT), observed Maloney's softball team get by Plainville by a tally of 9-3.

The Spartans (9-7) will now prepare for their bout against Southington (Southington, CT). The Blue Knights go into the non-league bout with a 9-3 record. In their last bout, Southington was routed by Waterford (Waterford, CT), 5-3, in a non-league bout.

In their next game, the Blue Devils battle the Wethersfield Eagles (Wethersfield, CT) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, May 15. Plainville will attempt to advance on its 9-6 season record. The Eagles go into the bout with a 5-6 record after their 6-3 non-league win over Newington (Newington, CT).
