In Thursday's non-league match, the host Hobart Brickies softball team scored a tight 13-8 victory over the Tri-County Cavaliers.

The Brickies (7-16) will now prepare for their match against Hanover Central (Cedar Lake, IN). The Wildcats go into the Northwest Crossroads match with a 17-6 record. In their last match, Hanover Central was routed by Andrean (Merrillville, IN), 4-1, in a league match.

In their next game, the Cavaliers battle the West Central Trojans (Francesville, IN) in a Midwest match, on Monday, May 18. Tri-County will attempt to better on its 16-4 season record. The Trojans go into the match with a 8-8 record after their 4-3 non-league win over North Judson-San Pierre (North Judson, IN).
