Hartford Indians (Hartford, MI) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Cassopolis Rangers (Cassopolis, MI), 6-2 in a league challenge.

The Indians now own a 5-3 record. They take the field next when they host Bloomingdale for a Southwest 10 challenge on Thursday, May 18. Hartford will battle a Cardinals squad coming off a 9-0 league loss to Bangor (Bangor, MI). The Cardinals record now stands at 0-6.

With the loss, Cassopolis falls to 1-4 on the campaign. The Rangers travel to Mendon (Mendon, MI) to battle the Hornets in a Southwest 10 challenge on Wednesday, May 17. The Hornets enter the challenge with a record of 21-3. Mendon won 6-3 in their recent league challenge against Centreville (Centreville, MI)
