Spectators at Monday's non-league match between the Shepaug Valley Spartans (Washington, CT) and the visiting Coginchaug Regional Blue Devils (Durham, CT), witnessed Shepaug Valley's softball squad tip Coginchaug Regional by a count of 2-0.

The Spartans now sport a 14-2 record. They play next when they host Wamogo Regional for a Berkshire match on Wednesday, May 17. Shepaug Valley will meet a Warriors squad coming off a 19-4 league loss to Nonnewaug (Woodbury, CT). The Warriors record now stands at 3-10.

With the loss, Coginchaug Regional moves to 10-7 on the season. The Blue devils host Old Saybrook (Old Saybrook, CT) to meet the Rams in a Shoreline - Large match on Tuesday, May 16. The Rams go into the match with a record of 0-7. Old Saybrook lost 16-1 in their recent league match against Old Lyme (Old Lyme, CT)
