The Thompson Tommies routed the visiting Mayville-Portland-Clifford-Galesburg Patriots softball squad by a count of 8-2 in Monday's league battle.

The Tommies (8-4) will now prepare for their battle against Midway/Minto (Inkster, ND). The Mustangs go into the battle with a 0-0 record.

The Patriots now sport a 1-1 record. They play next when they travel to Hillsboro/Central Valley for a non-league battle on Thursday, May 18. Mayville-Portland-Clifford-Galesburg will meet a H-CV Burros squad coming off a 5-4 non-league win over Thompson (Thompson, ND). The H-CV Burros record now stands at 3-0.
