Spectators at Wednesday's non-league match between the Geneseo Maple Leafs (Geneseo, IL) and the visiting Ottawa Pirates (Ottawa, IL), witnessed Geneseo's softball squad tip Ottawa by a count of 10-3.

The Maple Leafs now sport a 19-12 record. They play next when they host Sterling for a Western Big 6 match on Thursday, May 16. Geneseo will meet a Golden Warriors squad coming off a 18-0 league win over Galesburg (Galesburg, IL). The Golden Warriors record now stands at 20-4.

With the loss, Ottawa moves to 17-11 on the season. The Pirates host Normal Community (Normal, IL) to meet the Ironmen in a non-league match on Thursday, May 16. The Ironmen go into the match with a record of 14-19. Normal Community won 18-7 in their recent league match against Richwoods (Peoria, IL)
