The St. Joseph-Ogden Spartans (St. Joseph, IL) baseball trounced the host Mattoon Greenwave (Mattoon, IL), 11-2 in Thursday's non-league challenge.
The Spartans now own a 31-2 record. They take the field next when they host Bishop McNamara for a non-league challenge on Saturday, May 17. St. Joseph-Ogden will clash with a Fightin' Irish team coming off a 15-12 non-league loss to Marian Catholic (Chicago Heights, IL). The Fightin' Irish record now stands at 22-7.
With the defeat, Mattoon drops to 16-13 on the year. The Greenwave travel to Newton (Newton, IL) to clash with the Eagles in a non-league challenge on Saturday, May 17. The Eagles go into the challenge with a record of 15-13. Newton lost 7-6 in their recent non-league challenge against Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg (Windsor, IL)
