In Thursday's non-league test, the Breese Central Cougars (Breese, IL) softball squad overwhelmed the host Highland Bulldogs (Highland, IL), by a tally of 7-2.

Next, the Cougars clash with the Belleville East Lancers (Belleville, IL) in a non-league test, on Friday, May 16. Breese Central will attempt to advance on its 8-19 season record. The Lancers go into the test with a 22-5 record after their 9-5 league win over Edwardsville (Edwardsville, IL).

The Bulldogs (4-17) will now prepare for their test against Centralia (Centralia, IL). The Orphans go into the non-league test with a 17-2 record. In their last test, Centralia held off Murphysboro (Murphysboro, IL), 5-4, in a non-league test.
